Winter in Toronto doesn’t ease in. It slams the door. One day you’re raking leaves in a hoodie, the next you’re shovelling the driveway at 6 a.m. while the windchill tries to freeze your soul.
If you’ve been putting off those outdoor projects, this is your official wake-up call. After the first real snowfall or deep freeze, most exterior work either becomes impossible, dangerously slippery, or three times more expensive when emergency rates kick in.
Here’s what you should book RIGHT NOW, before our calendar (and the weather) completely shuts the door on the 2025 outdoor season:
1. Eavestrough Cleaning & Repairs
- Leaves are still falling (hello, November storms).
- Clogged gutters plus freezing temperatures mean ice dams and water in your walls.
- We’re already seeing a surge in emergency calls for overflowing troughs. Book a cleaning and inspection this week and avoid the January panic.
2. Window & Door Caulking / Weatherstripping
- Gaps around windows and doors are about to become expensive heat leaks.
- A quick re-caulk now can drop your heating bill 10–20 % this winter.
- Once the temperature drops below 5 °C, many caulking products won’t cure properly.
3. Exterior Painting & Wood Staining
- If you’ve been waiting for that perfect dry week, this is probably it.
- After mid-November, humidity and cold make proper adhesion almost impossible until April.
4. Deck & Fence Repairs
- Loose boards combined with ice create trip hazards and splinters all winter.
- Pressure-treated wood needs to be sealed before freeze-thaw cycles start splitting it.
5. Outdoor Tap Winterization & Hose Bib Protection
- We fix dozens of burst pipes every spring that could have been prevented with a 15-minute visit.
- Drain outdoor lines, shut off interior valves, and install insulated covers.
6. Final Lawn Equipment Tune-Up & Storage Prep
- Get the snowblower serviced BEFORE the first dump (our shop wait times triple in December).
- Drain the lawnmower, sharpen the blade, and store it properly so it actually starts next May.
Our Calendar is Filling Fast!
Every year we have to turn away last-minute requests because crews are fully committed to snow removal contracts starting December 1st. If you want work done in 2025 while the ground is still soft and the ladders aren’t icing over, now is literally your last reasonable window.
