How The HandyForce is Building Canada’s Next Generation of Skilled Tradespeople

Franchise Training

Across Canada, the demand for tradespeople is growing rapidly but the supply isn’t keeping up. High schools are graduating fewer students interested in skilled trades, and many young people simply don’t see a clear path into the industry.

At The HandyForce, we decided to do something about that.

Through our Master Handyman Certified Program, we’re creating a pipeline of well-trained, motivated workers by partnering directly with local schools to identify students with an aptitude for hands-on workand giving them the tools, training, and mentorship to build a career.

Investing in People. Transforming Lives.

For many of these young people, career opportunities are limited. They’re not heading to university. They might not have a plan. But what they do have is potential.

When they enter our program, they gain access to real-world, hands-on training in every major trade: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, drywall, flooring, and more! They’re mentored by experienced team leads. They’re paid to learn. And by the time they’ve completed the program, they’re ready to join a HandyForce team full-time.

This program doesn’t just give them a job. It gives them a future.

Why This Matters to Franchisees

Staffing is one of the toughest challenges in the home services industry. Most franchises leave you to figure it out on your own.

At The HandyForce, we’re solving this problem from the inside out.

By investing in youth and developing our own world-class renovation teams, we give our franchisees access to reliable, well-trained workers who know the HandyForce way from day one. It means faster ramp-ups, better customer experiences, and more time for our franchisees to focus on what they should be doing: growing their business.

Our program helps ensure every franchise has a high-quality, ready-to-work team and that’s a competitive advantage no other handyman franchise in Canada can match.
