Spring

   

The cliché “Spring Cleaning” is something we hold close to our hearts at The HandyForce.  Spring is a time of rejuvenation!  You home finally gets to thaw you can open the windows and literally let your home breath.  There is a lot to be done; it is our first opportunity to see how your persevered the winter and tackle any outdoor issues that arose.  Then there is the issue of the impending summer heat and humidity.

  • Check the exterior drainage.
  • Clean out gutters.
  • Window cleaning (interior and exterior).
  • Inspect the exterior of your home.
  • Inspection of foundation.
  • Inspection of roof and chimney.
  • Repair/replace damaged window screens.
  • Inspection of window seals.
  • Clear dead plants/shrubs from the house.
  • Check trees for interference with electric lines.
  • Inspect roofing for damage and leaks.
  • Check water softener, add salt if needed.
  • Vacuum your refrigerator coils.
  • Test garage door auto-reverse feature.
  • Test your water heater’s pressure relief valve.
  • Replace batteries in smoke & carbon monoxide detectors.

Summer is the time when indoor and outdoor life can fully blur together! It’s a time of growth and progress – especially for your lawn, so please check out our lawn care services – and your neighbors! Construction season is in full force and all the moving a shaking cause damage that will not yet be visible in your foundation, disturb rodents in the sewers and even dislodge debris in fresh water pipes clogging table and showing showers.

  • Check tile grout for cracks.
  • Check caulking around showers and bathtubs.
  • Inspect plumbing for leaks, clean aerators on faucets.
  • Remove showerheads and clean sediment.
  • Inspect for signs on insect infestation.
  • Power wash deck and patio.
  • Clean out window wells of debris.
  • Check and clean dryer vent.
  • Check water softener, add salt if needed.
  • Tighten any handles, knobs, racks, etc.
  • Inspect your fire extinguisher(s).
  • Change HVAC filters.
  • Clean kitchen sink disposal.

Fall can be a fleeting opportunity to make sure you and your abode are ready incoming cold, snow, and rain: you don’t want to ignore winter preparation.
